In short: Badges are free, earned with real documents, and can be removed. A badge confirms identity, not every item.
1. Badge levels

2. Cost
Verification is free for all sellers. Paid plans get a faster Business review (2 business days instead of 5). You can't buy a badge.
3. Your responsibilities
- Give true, current documents that belong to you or to a business you're authorized to represent.
- Keep your details current. Tell us within 14 days if your business name, ownership or location changes.
- Don't show a badge you don't have, including in photos.
4. How we use your documents
We use them only to verify you and to prevent fraud. We don't show your Ghana Card number, card photo or selfie to anyone. Retention periods are in our Privacy Policy.
5. Expiry and re-checks
Business verification lasts 12 months. We remind you 30 days before it expires. We may re-check any badge at any time.
6. Removing a badge
We remove a badge if:
- documents are false, altered, expired, or not yours
- the safety team confirms you scammed a buyer
- you receive 3 or more credible fraud reports within 30 days (the badge is suspended while we review)
- your business details change and you don't re-verify
- your account is suspended or banned
7. Appeals
If we reject your application or remove your badge, we tell you why. You can appeal once, within 14 days, by replying to our message or emailing hello@masiomarket.com with new evidence. See Acceptable Use Policy → Appeals.
8. What a badge doesn't promise
A badge shows that Masio checked the details listed above on the date shown. It doesn't guarantee the quality or authenticity of every item, or how a deal will go. Buyers should still see it, check it, then pay.
