Masio badges show what a seller has proved to us. Verification is free for every seller. It can't be bought, and we can take it away.

Badges
Phone verified
What we checked: The seller confirmed a Ghana mobile number with a one-time code.
What it tells you: You can reach this seller on a real Ghanaian number.
Who can get it: Every seller. It's required to post an ad.
ID verified
What we checked: The seller's Ghana Card was checked against national records, and a live selfie was matched to the card photo.
What it tells you: A real, identified person runs this account.
Who can get it: Any seller aged 18 or over with a valid Ghana Card. Free.
Business verified
What we checked:
- the business registration certificate from the Office of the Registrar of Companies (or a district assembly business operating permit for sole proprietors)
- the Ghana Card of the owner or a director
- a business location, by GhanaPost GPS address and a photo of the shop sign or premises, or a visit by a Masio marketer
What it tells you: A real, registered business stands behind this storefront.
Who can get it: Registered businesses. Free. Sellers on paid plans get a faster review (2 business days instead of 5).
How to get verified
- Open Seller dashboard → Verification.
- Choose a level and upload what we ask for. It takes about 5 minutes.
- We review it. ID checks are usually instant. Business checks take up to 5 business days.
- Your badge appears on your storefront and listings. Buyers can tap it to see what was checked and when.
What a badge doesn't mean
A badge confirms identity, not every item. Even with a verified seller, still see the item and check it before you pay. Verification lowers the risk; it doesn't guarantee a deal.
Keeping badges honest
- We re-check business details every 12 months and when key details change.
- We remove a badge if documents turn out to be false, if a seller is confirmed to have scammed a buyer, or after repeated serious reports.
- Faking verification gets an account permanently banned.

Is verification free?
Yes, for every seller. Paid plans only get a faster review.
Do I need a badge to sell?
You need Phone verified to post. ID and Business verification are optional, but buyers trust verified sellers more.
What happens to my Ghana Card details?
We use them only to confirm who you are. We don't show your card number or photo to anyone, and we keep the data as described in our Privacy Policy.
I don't have a registered business. Can I still sell?
Yes. Get ID verified. Many individual sellers do well on Masio with an ID badge and good reviews.
My verification was rejected. What now?
We'll tell you why in your dashboard. Fix the issue and apply again, or contact support.
